And so it all ends

Well, its not so bad. but it has ended, the 12 days of relaxation and exploration. now it is time to get back to reality. haha. a lazy slumber into the holidays. so let me continue the saga.

recall that i was double pangsehed by the duo during Friday. the last day (sat) i got an sms from ww tt he is coming back. okay, so apparently, he went to tsukuji market on his own decision @ 3 AM in the morning on a taxi, ate the best sushi he thought there was, and stayed at a hotel somewhere else and slept from 3 PM to 10 AM. what about wl? she came back with her 2 newly made frens at 12++am of Sunday, and totally ignored me, even tho the other 2 frens greeted me and asked abt the departure time and why am i not sleepin tt kinda usual formalities, dis wl just plain ignored. no idea what went wrong still man.

back @ home, there's some kinda war going on. dad trying to play angel again, mum becoming a devil and poking @ him everywhere possible. we all know dad is in the wrong, and i can only stand at the sideberth and watch. had karoake with sis and relatives yesterday evening to night. had to be a backup singer for almost all the songs! luckily the japan trip has trained my throat and it doesnt hurt at all xD

Pics, in no particular order:
Dis is great great great mega-muffin which is not available in singapore mcdonalds. Its a breakfast set that actually is more fattening than the singapore's any mcmuffin. just see for urself. its really nice too.

A poster of wanted criminals in Nikko (right side), advertisement for recruitment to police force (left)

Lush green and wonderful water along the residential areas of Nikko

The really really blue water under the bridge of Shinkyo, which is a sacred bridge that u are not allowed on unless you pay. which kinda defeats the sacredness.

U know u saw those pics of screwed up english right? here's one.

Shibuya at night. Ok it was a badly shaked picture but its still cool.

Bunch of people who look like Naruto cosplay.. but its actually some festival happening in the MIDDLE of Shibuya that stretched for quite abit. 2km?

Lots of girls, and its 99% girls, fangirls of a boyband in Harajuku. Their voice isnt amazing, they dont really look good too, wonder whats their charm?

Cosplayers? Dont knwo what u call dis, but its in Harajuku.

Free huggers that got physically defeated. Haha.

What you call dis.. Almost-skyscraper-level posters of anime? Damn cool.

Young girls taking picture of temple.

Here's the random schoolgirl on the streets of Shibuya on a weekday afternoon. Did they have skip school? Hard to say.

Two dogs from two totally strangers. They went to each other and decide to have their dogs lash out at each other.

Ninja kiddo at the queue area of Ueno zoo. Caught on cam.

Yet another schoolgirl (for some reason there are no or very little schoolboys) drawing in Ueno Zoo. There's alot of them all around.

Kid amazed by his own shadow.

Salamander. Cool Cool Cool.

Yes the great Todai. Forgot the campus name but its the one for undergraduate. It was really cool to walk in this uni.

Ok here ends this long list of pictures. There's a ton more for subscribers only. The kids in Japan are so spastic they end up being so cute. Not sure what to say about that..

b o r e d

had an incident two nights ago when a Thai staying at the hostel came back to report that his wife of 26yo is missing @ Ueno from 930pm. after overhearing their long-heated but otherwise pointless discussion, I decided to go search for his wife at the Ueno station instead of waiting for the police. It was 12am+ therefore have to walk there as the train stations are closed. wl came along. it was about a 30 min walk to Ueno from Asakusa. to our luck, found the wife at the ueno station, she has waited patiently for her husband to come back to her for nearly 3 hrs! had some fun chatting with the local police and the higher rank plainsclothes police and the conflict was resolved. their police can be really nice people and badasses. and they are very careful. even when the plainsclothes police come and collect the girl, they dont want to let him (the local ones) as they must make sure its the real police. anyway, was a really dramatic scene as we saw the two couples hug and cried. x)

on tokyo: the more u think about it, Tokyo's nothing much. It's just a bigger version of Singapore - that means wider variety of clothes, cars, people, personality, problems, and such. buildings are also alot bigger, and the heritage is very much older. that's what I like most about Japan, the shrines and stuff. The newer fashionists kinda gets on my nerves.

on my predicament: got double backstabbed by ww and wl today when i woke up to find both of them disappeared from the hostel. plan was to meet at 630am in hostel then go tsukuji market but all of them are gone! smsed ww and he said he will be back TMR. like wtf. is this sad or what? rofl. didn even bother to sms wl with her pms attitude. she never replies anyway, just to save that few cents so she can spend on more clothes. Therefore, here am I, camping in the hostel with red-alert amount of money, wasting time away like a true nipponjin! ^_^ (btw, i'm not angry or anything)

i tried uploadin pics just now and it hung. 2nd try and it worked but really upload very slow.

The area where i'm staying in - Asakusa. Some people stay it is a tourist trap but I dont think so. There are many nice people here and I havet encountered any ridiculously priced items..

Here's a shot of Sakura flower in Chuzenji. What luck to find it XD

A nice bowl of udon

Akihabara

An old man being lead on by a 'maid' !!

oh and I forgot to mention. I entered Todai (aka tokyo university, #1 in Asia) yesterday :) the number of pretty chicks and handsome dudes dramatically decreases as the intellectual threshold goes higher it seems. haha, juz like in SG. its a place where alot of people are studying, everywhere on benches, libraries, canteen... pics are in my cam and cant be uploaded atm.. went past a few of their ENGLISH classes and I could spot mistakes on the blackboard instantly. now we know why their english sucks.

took me a really long time to upload the pics. back in sg it will be easier. so laters for now. i'm actually missing SG. gonna get myself some mee pok with more spicy more mee :P

also, heard that things are going very badly at home.. i feel helpless there's nothing i can do abt it. its not something we can do about? or can we do something about it? hang in there..

getting bored!

not bad. i think i've assimilated into japan, and understand more about their culture and lifestyle. There are many things that are different, weird even, and exotic here, and is very hard to put into words. Descriptions are never enough, come to Jpn to experience for urself XD

Bought a kimono/yukata today @ 12800 yen, abt $168 SGD. Its very nice. So from today until last day i'll be on budget mode!

so i'm getting bored. no money makes you a dull man in japan. well there cheap stuff, but it never gets too cheap, its just plain above 300 yen haha, and transport is quite a bit of money too. camped most of my day in the hostel (went out at 10, came back at 4, slept until 10pm...) its becoming like an ordinary life instead of a tourist life!

Short Update

Alright, before my time runs out in this cybercafe (http://www.gcc-bagus.jp/) i am going to do a short update. Visited Nikko the past one day and half of today, and went to shibuya after. Nikko has to be one of the more relaxing places, and the Hotori-an inn is a nice, very comfortable, and quiet place, with gushing water constantly sounding in the background. Shibuya is very busy, and the renowned cross roads that you can walk anywhere when the green man is on is really infamous. Very fun to just walk for lameness. Very hip stuff here too, i feel too old for this stuff. Prices are high too. Will look for whale meat the next time i get here as planned.

So far, I havent bought much stuff here. Most of the money was spent on food and accomodation and transport. Each meal at the very least costs 500 yen (abt $6~~ SGD), and i usually go above 1000 yen ($13~~SGD). Hoping to reduce that. haha.

This cybercafe i am in is very well furnished. Got insane amoutns of comics, lots of DVDs movies, games, and the internet here is very fast. Speedtest with SG Server showed 40mb/s download rate and 4.5mb/s upload rate. Amazing isnt it.

Oh, finally, there are alot of pretty girls in Japan too. Dressed up to the max too. Now its kinda like normal already. haha. Laters.

First Day in Japan

So i managed to reach Khaosan Smile !!! So happy. Our first day here, we drank some very strong whiskey, and wei wei has been destroyed. frankly, i'm perfectly fine, dunno why also. innate power? so bro and sis if u read dis dont tell mum and dad hor.

our flight was faster than the stated time, even if there were some delays. 1015 ard there set off from singapore, then reach hong kong at about 1420 hrs, transit took abit of time as there was a crowd, by the time we entered CX500 (HKG -- JPN) it was already 1455 hrs (supposed to report at 1440 last call). but its ok since it was crowded (everyone else was delayed also). so we went in, and it was another 3 hrs flight, finally reached Narita airport at 2000 hrs. there was delay there too , taxiing around for 20-30 mins. Expected time was actually 2015 hrs. so we were still earlier by 15 minutes.

when we actually reached there, called Smile (the hostel we were supposed to stay in), and told them we gonna check in late during the queueing up for passport check. It was really long and it seems they are doing overtime too ( the staff). wonder what went wrong. Later, we asked one of the train dudes what train to take to asakusa. we were told to take to AOTO and then change train to Asakusa. It was kinda fun, ticket costs $14 SGD each, took about 1 hr 20 minutes total time. Really fun and exciting cos we didnt know if we took the correct train. we went and just stopped at AOTO as was told, and then we just took the opposite train without knowing whether it will reach Asakusa. jheng it did X) Used some of my learnt japanese on the way, it was good to know japanese after all xD

when we reached Smile, which took abit of navigation, we foudn the rooms really small and narrow. but that was expected in a way, u get what u paid for ($30/night). heng there's free internet (4 coms in total) and its usually occupied. so i'm only typing this in the wee hours :p 0200 hrs where everyone else has retired or gone .

we decided our first night in tokyo cant be spent to simply just sleeping. wanted to stay till 4 am, but wei wei couldnt take it after drinking the first whiskey which was really , admittedly powerful, and he said to sleep first. shower is supposedly on 2nd level but its locked, dunno how to go in as we are late check-in. so my first nite, is unfortunately without showering lmao.

THE REST OF THE 10-11 days will be fun! hope i'll have a chance to update. weiling will be joinig us tomorrow at 1000-1200 hrs at asakusa station. hopefully, we are awake by then. i'm really quite scared of dis part. haha.

no pictures as of now, because i have no USB connector. forgot to bring, and damn that weiwei never say he bringing laptop. maybe i'll buy one tmr at akihabara. gd nite X)
